I want to know which carrier/rental has good service, price, reception and all. Renting for one week, preferring an american local phone number.

They're not cheap and the service is hit and miss, depending on the rep.

Talknsave was an arm and a leg and another arm and another leg when we made aliya almost 6 years ago. Our bills with them were $300-400 a month, once we got an Israeli provider our bills for the same usage were $75-80.

For a 1 week rental try Israelphones (google it). They send you the phone in America so you can give ppl your number before you go

I know this is an old thread but Im going to Israel for the summer IY"H.

Can I get an Israeli provider for a 2 week rental in Israel or would it only work for a long term rental?

I don't know. It is possible that if you come with an unlocked cellphone you can go to the post office and buy a talkman sim card, but I have never tried it, but I seem to remember seeing them for sale. I don't know how that works for calls to chu"l and you wouldn't have a phone right away or a number...

Try holylandphone.com they have great customer service and one of the cheapest rates out there. I was very satisfied with them when I was in Israel this year

I recommend talk n save. I dont think they are more than anyone else. Only more than Israeli, ur ou can't sign p for a whole plan. Talk save ships it to you so you have the phone before ou leave. I love their service.
