My twin nephews are having their upsherin soon.
Any cute ideas that doesnt cost too much?
Also, if my family will not be attending because we will be out of town then is it really necessary to give a gift in the first place?
what is your opinion?

My grandmother always says "its not what you get but that you get". Its the thought that always counts, You can get small books or a toy, something from a judaica store.

Since I got a discount on the tapes (or CD's) of my uncle, Rabbi Juravel, I usually gave a tape or CD for upsherin gifts.

I don't think I ever sent an upsherin gift when I didn't actually attend it, though; I guess it depends on how you feel:)

Ktuknots.com - Designer tzitzis that don't cost a lot. You can get them matching ones or different depending on their preferences.
