Of course we are bringing lots of sunscreen, but do we need bug spray too?

My kids,husband and I have never really gotten bug bites here. There are definitely mosquitoes, though I think more in the spring than summer. (We were just in America however, and my kids got bitten up.)
I do know some people that get lots of mosquito bites here though.

Yes. My kids have gotten so bitten up the past few months. Not even regular mosquito bites but some other bugs that give darker, harder welts. Is it difficult to bring? Just don't put it in your carry on luggage 
Some people are more easily bitten though. I think it has to do with CO2 levels close to the skin or something like that.
