My 18 year old Israeli cousin is going to the army this year. I want to buy her a gift but have no idea what to buy since I live in the US and we're not that close we have more of a formal relationships. Could everyone please post ideas of what is appropriate to give for a "going to the army" gift. Thanks in advance.

Will she be a fighter or sitting in an office? Teaching? Do you know what her job will be? A good backpack is never a bad gift, no matter what she does - unless she comes home every day.
Those quick drying towels are also an idea if she's out in the field.
How much do you want to spend?
