I enjoy a cup of coffee at some point during the day. Thing is I need to have something with it and usually it ends up being cookies or cake :/. What do you have with your coffee? What healthy things are good?

Usually a fruit. Sometimes a muffin that doesn't have so much junk. I try to bake things myself so I can sneak nutrients in like flax seed.

I made the puffed quinoa bars from Binah (it's posted on imamother) & they're really good! I love eating it with a cup of coffee. I use choc chips in it instead of the craisins

I just made blueberry muffins from this site, posted by ra mom. It uses oatbran and no wheat. I used chocolate chips instead of blueberries and it satisfies my need for a baked good now and then.

I actually like to have my coffee with some crackers and peanut butter. We can't deny that one needs some good carbs with a coffee, but for a healthy option, I use as mentioned. Good enough

Oatbran Muffins
• 1 egg
• 2 egg whites
• 1 tsp olive oil
• 1 cup seltzer
• 1/2 cup honey
• 2 cups oat bran
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 1/2 tsp salt (optional)
Combine all wet ingredients. Add dry ingredients until they are just moistended. Add fillings, if desired.
Use an ice cream scooper to fill muffin tin liners 3/4 full.
Bake at 450 got 15-17 minutes, or until golden brown.
Suggested fillings
• Raisins
• Sugar free chocolate chips
• Apple chips
• Cranberries
• Blueberries
It's definitely not like those non-healthy ones, but good enough when I'm trying to watch what I eat.

There's a very good oat bran muffin recipe in Dining In Again:
2 ¼ C oat bran
1 T baking powder
½ tsp salt
¾ C parve milk
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/3 C honey
2 T oil
Bake 15-17 minutes on 425.

How about adding some cocoa powder to the coffee and calling that your treat?
Or not drinking the coffee at all, if it's a trigger for you ?

We love this recipe! I've been making it for a couple of years, I usually make a double batch and keep it in the freezer. I do make them milchigs, though (real milk) and also add the "optional" ingredient of 1/2 c. blueberries.
Hmm, I just noticed that you said it's from Dining in AGAIN. I use the one from the original Dining In. Very strange, it's almost exactly the same, but a drop less oat bran, 1t. less baking powder, more milk, one less egg, drop less honey and 1/4 c. brown sugar. Why would they include almost the exact same recipe with TINY changes? Does the cookbook mention anything about modifying this recipe from the first book?
Anyway, it doesn't sound like anything special, but they are REALLY delicious and easy. DH and kids love them (that's why they go straight into the freezer, or I wouldn't have any left!) And they are really healthy too!

Belvita breakfast biscuits are small but very filling and satisfying. So delicious with a coffee. I love homemade muffins, but if you don't have any these are good on the go. I get them at 7-11 with my coffee sometimes. Not cholov Yisroel though.
A complex carb with your coffee will keep you full for a long time.

I usually have my coffee with mandelbrodt or biscotti. Low on sugar, yet sweet if you add choc chips or raisins.

I often keep a stash of crispy Oatmeal Craisin Biscotti - whole wheat, minimal brown sugar, no oil, flaxseed, wheatgerm, oat bran, and oatmeal. DELISH!
