We just got a new crockpot and the lid rattles all Shabbos long! Has anyone had this problem? Any suggestions? TIA.

That's happening because the lid doesn't have a proper seal (cover was made too small), the steam from the food is escaping, and the water between the lid and pot is making the cover move. My suggestion is to use crockpot bags which end up sealing the space bet pot and lid anyway.

Mine was like that too and too much steam escaped during its first use resulting in a very dried out cholent. It is perfect though if I put foil under the cover to make the seal tight.

Thanks! I'd rather not use a bag. I'll try using foil this Shabbos.
