Yes.
Last night we had French Fries (deep fried-not oven baked as usual). Tonight, we're having a Milchig menu. Tomorrow, fried chicken cutlets (also, instead of baking). And on a night when I have no time to patchka, I will buy donuts for dessert.

No, my kids are still young & (I fee) are getting pretty spoiled w/ all the treats & gifts......so whenever I can, I try to cut out the extras. In theory (like last year) I gave the kids a treat each night by candle lighting (I do the same when I light Shabbos candles, like 1 jelly bean or the like). I really don't need all the extra fat....

I like your idea of chocolate coins - easier to prepare than latkes or sufganiyot. I think we'll do that tomorrow.

1 day cookies (chanukah shapes)
1 day milchigs- homemade pizza

I try to. Mostly I try to serve supper on the dining room table so we eat near the menorah and I set the table so it is festive.

Chocolate coins
potato latkes
cheese latkes
sweet potato latkes
donuts for dessert
I might make a cookie dough and let the kids shape it- that was a good idea Thanks!

Another thing we do is, at least night we have the kids think of personal nissim or hashgah pratis that they want to thank hashem for. This way it makes hte yom tov more personal for them.
