Hi,
I just moved to a new city and I am looking for ideas on how to promote my private practice. If you are a therapist or not:) I would love to hear your ideas.

Are you trying to appeal to the frum community?

Perhaps you can volunteer to speak at different functions (school chinuch night for parents, womens' fundraising tea, school yom iyun) about topics with which you are familiar and deal with in therapy. If people see you, like you, think that you understand the issues and can understand them and help them-- you may have some new clients!

Also, is there a frum referral system in place in your new city? You can be in contact with them and ask them about this.

Look into the local papers and see if they would be willing to let you pen an article about something related to mental health.

call and/or meet with local pediatricians, schools, rabbonim, etc. let them know you exist, what you do and where you were previously. then they can refer their patients/students/congregants. I agree that probably the best way to get your name out is by public speaking/writing. and network with other therapists in your neighborhood.
