I just remodeled my kitchen and I am trying to keep it looking neat. Just curious, do you keep cake on the counter, in the fridge, pantry, cupboard? I can't seem to find the right place in my new kitchen.

Mazel tov and enjoy! I keep them on the counter. I don't put them in anything fancy but outside of Pesach in a dollar store round container on a plate (for round cakes) or a metal tin with plastic lid for the rectangular.

I keep them sealed in the pantry all week, I put them on the counter on shabbos in regular baking tin covered with foil or on a plate with cling wrap.

On top of the fridge where there is no cabinet and no ants. This being Israel, ants are an issue practically year round. In the old days, Israelis kept their baked cakes IN the cold oven, and only now do I understand it. No ants in there.

Cakes I bake for Shabbos are stored in the "hiding place" (that everyone knows about) in a kitchen drawer. We don't have ants. We exterminate regularly. We do have chemicals, I guess.

Homemade Pesach brownies and macaroons are in the freezer. I'll take them out befor the seuda.
