I'd like to read a book for a model lesson and do an interactive activity afterwards. (I love story telling)
Any ideas?
I love Fish out of Water, maybe even Harold and the Purple Crayon...
or maybe you have other ideas?
dental hygiene ideas?..
TIA

I don't know b/c I do not teach kindergarten - do any book that you are excited about as that will transfer to the kids. now, some classes are more wild and can't necessarily sit. so even if it is a good book, if you find them starting to get restless from sitting you may want to read a little faster and spend more time on the activity or project.

Try to use a big book if possible. Is it a public school or yeshiva class?

yeshiva, small group, some Sp. Ed, some not
unfortunately it's a bit short notice, so I don't have time to look around for big books or anything. mostly what's in my house or any surrounding store/library!
and my printer's not working, ahh!

I recently gave my pre-kindergarten class a lesson when our school had an inspection on the book 'little blue, little yellow,' about those two colors being friends and hugging and turning into green. We then graphed those two colors (using paint) and added a third column of what color they turn into when mixed. We experemented and graphed a whole bunch of colors and what they turn into when mixed. The kids loved it and really participated nicely.
