My DH really wants to move out of Brooklyn so he can buy a house and afford the mortgage. He would love Monsey. I am terrified of the change. Was it a major adjustment? I don't drive and am too scared to learn. Will I manage? Also he will have to commute back to Brooklyn for work. Anyone do that? Thanks.

I have 2 friends who did it and absolutely love it. I don't know details, but they are quite independent girls, and don't mind living far away from mom.
One husband comes in to Brooklyn every morning to work. Works great.

We made the move about three years ago, and are loving it here. It was not a major adjustment for me, but that may be because I was desperate to get out of Brooklyn.
I was also afraid to drive at first, but then I learned how to and now I can't stop.
Many people commute to Brooklyn. There are so many options, like driving, carpooling, taking a bus or train, etc.

My parents braved it. In 1964. My father taught my mother how to drive in the parking lot of the community college
