My mother in law wears only tichels. Her tichels are usually the Israeli style cotton or rayon ones. She doesn't wear the typical chassidishe ones.
For her daughter's wedding, she needs a really beautiful tichel to match her satin gown. We would like her to wear a satin tichel or s/thing like that and we'll add an ornament to it.
Do you know of any stores in Boro Park/Flatbush that do this at a reasonable rate? Does anyone have experience with buying fabric and sewing one up? Any fashion insights that could make this work?! The wedding is in two weeks so the pressure is on.

Why don't you try etsy.com. There are many people who make apron type tichels that are very pretty.

Or Judith of Paris (who's actually in Baltimore). She imports very interesting headcoverings from Israel, and she's delightful!

I have done this here in EY. I also am going to suggest Judith D'Paris. But really any seamstress should be able to help you. Is there anyone local to you who makes tichels or "tichel- hats" (looks like a tichel but sewed so it doesn't need to be tied). What style does she usually wear? Is she committed to only that style?

Apron type tichels don't go so well in chassidishe style and they need height at the back to look good (also not a typical chassidishe style). It depends what the woman wants.

I guess that is good because the OP said her mother doesn't wear chassidishe style.

No she didn't. She said she doesn't wear the typical chassidhe tichels. Not that she doesn't wear whatever tichels she wears in a chassidishe style. You can tie most tichlach or pieces of fabric in a chassishe style. Not all the apron style tichels though.
OP can correct me if I misunderstood.

I will say that you can get the fabric that matches the outfit cut into an apron shape and tie it that way and it looks elegant, even turban like, without the myriads of layers of other fabrics that would detract from that "look". I have a friend who has a pretty homemade apron silk-tichel that she accessorizes with a simple thin headband to match the outfit (that can be skipped) but the entire tichel is a uniform look. Very aidel looking.

Either way, and maybe this is just a point of politeness, you can probably just say that without quoting my post. After all, I'm not buying the tichel, the OP is. We're all just throwing out ideas, right?
In addition, etsy doesn't just have apron tichels. They have many lovely things, such as this.

You mentioned apron style tichels. I politely pointed out that most won't work in a chassidishe style tie.
I don't know what your deal is, I was not being impolite, I was just giving information relevant to your post. There is absolutely no reason for me not to quote your post. I was responding to it.

If you send me a pm, I could find someone in her area that could help her find something that will look incredible and won't break the bank.
