shidduch "threat," Tooo FUNNY!

Some how along the way I have become a threat to a woman in my community.

Recently, with rental increase, a male (yes close to my age) recommended an apt that happens to be right above him. I have no interest in this particular male, as he is a confirmed bachelor etc. Evidently this woman in our community has fallen inlove with him. So she has a friend call and "invite" me to a inprompt party for her son. When I informed her that I already have plans she starts to ask alot of questions. Here's the discussion.

"I hear u might move to xyz."

Me " it's a possibliity because it's a bigger apt for less than I am paying now."

"Yes, but u know it's above this person."

Me "yes so? He likes my boys, and it would be good for all of them to have a positive Male to hang out with."

"Yes but he told my friend he does not like kids!"

Me "um, ok...where are we going with this discussion?"

"my friend is in love with this person, and she wants to make sure you have no interest in him."

Me "LOL, your kidding right?? I think he's a nice guy, but I know that he's a confirmed bachelor terrified of getting married! So no I am sorry I have no interest."

"Good, because my friend is really in love with him. HOw should she go about getting him to marry her?"

Me "what part of scared of marriage did u not understand?"

And the conversation just went on and on, finally I said try this Rabbi maybe they could change his mind.

Is that crazy or what???

Here I have only been on one "shidduch," via frumster (huge mistake) and a woman sees me as a threat! LOL oy vey

How can she be in love with him if she doesn't even know him? Why would you moving to the same building as him pose a "shidduch threat?" You wouldn't be moving into his apartment - you be moving into your own place with your kids! Sounds like this woman is barking up the wrong tree.
