I have a tax related question. My father is looking for an accountant to assist us in the following. Living abroad, with little income, my parents are thinking of giving money to each of the grandchildren to support them during the year and then my parents will be able to claim them as his dependents on thier tax return. I realize that my parents needs to provide over 50% of the total support which they are comfortable providing if they will be permitted to claim the grandchildren. I am not looking for an technical answer on this website, rather for recommendation for a CPA in the tri-state area who has experience with this who can meet with us.
