hi guys,
I got tons of leftover dates from R"H
any good recipes?
I'd prefer something healthy - of course my diet started this morning!

fresh dates or dried dates?
We have dried dates as nosh in our house. Wrap well so it doesn't harden and eat one when you need something sweet.
You can also blend (peel and take out pit first) and use in smoothies.
ETA: don't peel dried dates , only fresh dates.

I blend dates with frozen bananas, add wheat germ and milk, and blend some more.
That's my Friday breakfast- the day I'm home from work

Sticky toffee pudding uses quite a lot of dates, keeps well. Among 3 pudds I served over RH, this one got polished off first. Search under username.
You can freeze fresh dates (brown ones) after halving them and removing the stone. Just enjoy like ice candy, or put a few into cholent.

Just so you know, OP, that dates are high in calories. They're great, and healthy, but you gotta watch how much of them you eat, just like anything else. All calories count. We learned that the hard way last year, when we thought we would be so healthy and just eat dates stuffed with almonds for desserts during sukkot. We wondered why we weren't losing any weight.
