Any suggestions for non-depressing novels, preferably Jewish-themed?

I can only recommend The Saturday Wife by Naomi Ragen.

There's also Here Comes Mashiach by Dina Rubina, which is one of my favorites, but
1. I don't know how good the translation is
and
2. While it's written with a light, comic style, the ending is tragic.

Second Chances by Yael Mermelstein
Hm, I'll come up with more but not right now, my brain's shutting down.

I found the Saturday Wife to be quite depressing and really out there. Not my favorite Naomi Ragen book at all. To each their own.

Sun Inside Rain by M. Bassara is well written and not depressing at all.

If you're looking for a very light read, I'd recommend Thirteenth Ave (older novel)... Malka Adler's books are very heartwarming, but more short pieces, not novels: A sunny slice of life, Second ? Of sunshine. Close to Home is a novel that recently came out and would fit the bill too, I think.
