none as far as brand. just a recommendation to make sure you have made it as safe as possible. I have a relative who suffered a brain injury due to trampoline use a few years ago. the effects are still there. the doctors didn't expect him to recover as well as he did. please do your research about trampoline safety before deciding on which trampoline to buy.

We have a great trampoline - I'll post - but did I just read "brain injury?" What happened? Totally freaked out now.

Also look into the impact it may have on your homeowners insurance policy, as they specifically ask if you have a trampoline or pool, and your premium may go up substantially, so please clarify that before purchasing.

Yes, trampolines are very fun, also one of the primary reasons for spinal cord injury in children. Not meant to scare anyone, but if I wasn't so passionate about this, I would have bought one for my kids a long time ago, they absolutely are dying for one! I think I recently read on article that the American Academy of Pediatrics only recommends the use of trampolines in specific places- like in a gymnastics forum with trained individuals, not for at home use.

he jumped too high and wasn't in control. landed head first on concrete. instant contusion (his friends were there and saw blood coming out of his ears). long hospital stay, various therapies, lots of specialists, etc. this was over seven years ago, and he still gets mystery medical symptoms as a result. brain injuries cause life-long complications that would normally be diagnosed as separate issues. the doctors didn't think he'd do as well as he is.
bottom line: if you're going to buy a trampoline, do LOTS of research on how to make it safe. then include the cost of safety equipment (padding, net, etc) in your budget for the trampoline. you can't buy the trampoline and assume you'll buy the other things bit by bit. and I'd say you really can't overdo the padding.
