My whole chickens sometimes have blood.
Do I have to rinse them? I have been reading that some say not to wash poultry as it only further spreads bacteria---but I don't want to cook chicken with blood!

Also, once on the topic, do you rinse your meat/fish before cooking?

Yes, all the time. Then you cook and kill more bacteria on the chicken . . . otherwise need to carefully clean counters, sink, etc. after rinsing.

Actually, the USDA says washing chicken is a great way to spread bacteria.
