How to cover my ears and keep them warm- no hats!

My ears are freezing when I wear the typical crochet snood or even my shaitel.
My dh hates hats (and my kids chassidish schools don't allow hats either). Also, I think a hat will look odd ontop of a snood, and it will ruin my shaitel. I tried a band thing to go over the wig, w/ velcro, but it keeps popping open, and flattens the front. Oh, and I dislike earmuffs.
So how do I keep my ears covered and warm?! They get so painfully cold when I walk to and from my kid's playgroups in this freezing weather.
I need ideas please!

"Ear Bags"

http://www.amazon.com/Ear-Bags.....+bags

They kind of snap open/closed onto your ears.

As an aside, you could just get earmuffs. I happen to like these better, as they are more discreet. A friend discovered them and they are really inventive, in my opinion.

ETA--Sorry, saw that you don't like earmuffs. So, again, these are much better. I like them a lot.

How about wearing a coat with a hood?

SacN- those are a really neat idea! Thanks!
I have a coat and it doesn't have a hood- so that will only work if I buy a new coat (not in the current budget.)

Check out 180s ear warmers. I keep a pair in my purse for emergencies.
