And Have a Little Faith (also non fiction) was pretty good too.
His novels are easy reads, very sweet, guaranteed to have a satisfying ending, and just a bit fantastical.

Time to bump up this thread.
Any new suggestions for shmutz free (or mild) books?
Any good thrillers (like Harlan Coben)?
Anything contemporary but clean???

I'm not a big secular book reader.
But DH likes agatha cristy and allister mclean-both mystery and very different style.
I read lots of hardy boys growing up (that's what happens when you have older brothers and no sisters  ).
I loved the Harry Potter series although there definitely romance toward the end.
39 clues are the same as above.
that's all I can think of for now.

FTR, the newest Albom novel, The First Phone Call From Heaven, was pretty well written. A really satisfying read.
