A friend of mine is looking to start a new small business in NY state.
She is looking for an accountant to help her get started, figuring out expense account etc.
BUT she really prefers working with a female and is having a hard time getting recommendations.
Do you have someone to recommend?

I know lots of female accountants (I'm one myself), but none that really do that kind of work. If I were not so overloaded at work now, I'd offer myself up to help, but I have too many things taking up my time now to think about freelancing.

Try finding someone starting out, who has another job (or works part-time); they may be more willing to take on a project like that especially at this time of year, as they may have been experienced at the nitty-gritty level, but don't have too many responsibilities not to be able to devote enough attention to what your friend needs.
