Is there still such a thing? Need a one-way ticket because we are unsure as to when we want the return ticket for. Also, I understand tickets from Israel to US are cheaper. Thanks Very Happy

Talk to a travel agent. There is such a thing as a ticket with one free change of date, so that you can pick the return date closer to the time when you're more sure of when you want it to be.

In general, two one-way international tickets are more expensive than one round trip ticket.

No such thing as a student ticket anywhere, AFAIK. Infant (under 2), child (2-11), and adult. Zehu. (Oh, and senior.)

I'll have to ask my daughter - but it certainly is done ... I believe it's called an open-ended ticket

There are student tickets - or there used to be, at least.

It's not cheaper, but you can book am open ended ticket that had a very low changing fee. It saves a lot of money. The change fee for a regular el al ticket, for example is $250, I think. Plus if there is a fare difference.

I guess maybe an open-ended ticket is basically my only option. Thanks for the replies.

just spoke to my daughter & she said that she did indeed have an open-ended ticket ... once school is over for the year & she has an idea of when she will fly home - that's when they put in the date [also many seminaries have group flights which are cheaper]
