I made it for Shabbos .It literally took me 5 min. to prepare and everyone loved it!
Mix all ingredients (I did with a hand-mixes, but you can mix with a spoon)
Apple Chocolate Chip Cake
1 Cup Canola oil
1+1/2 Cups Sugar
1+ 2/3 Cups Flour
1/2 t. Cinnamon
1 t. Baking powder
1 t. Baking soda
2 Large Eggs
4 Green apples peeled & grated
1 cup (or less)Choc Chips
Mix all, pour into 2 loaf pans and bake on 350 for about 50 minutes until toothpick comes out dry.
Bon apetito! |
Is it self raising flour or plain flour also what does t stand for table spoons or teaspoons?

I made the apple cake and it came out ok, but too oily. can you tell me why? should I use less oil then the recipe requires?

I can not tell you why because:
1. I am not a pastry-chef
2. I didn't see what you were doing there...
I make it every week and it is always perfect.
Try to use less oil and maybe bake it a few more minutes?
Good luck!

How finely did you grate the apples? If you grated them finely it would produce an "oily" cake.

I also made the cake - really yummy! Thanks for posting it! My kids kept asking for more. I also thought it was a bit on the oily side. I used olive oil. Next time I would probably use half of what I used.
Have you ever tried freezing the cake? Since one was plenty for shabbos I thought we could freeze the other one for next week, but I wasn't sure if it would freeze well.
