I keep getting an e-mail that scares me. "Something from your past has resurfaced." Although I do not know anything from my past that may have resurfaced, bH, I am concerned just the same about getting such a threatening type of e-mail. It keeps telling me that I have a criminal record that has just gone public.
In the past I received e-mails telling me I won a million dollar lottery and things of that sort. Those I delete immediately. But this one, I'd like to report somewhere because....
Who can I complain to? I delete them as "junk mail," but is that enough?
Help!

Eh, just delete and don't worry, I would say. Don't open these.
These come in billions worldwide, there is no way to stop them, and nobody to report them to. You would just call attention to yourself by reporting.

I get a lot of junk mail but this one seems different than the rest. Like as if they know who I am even though I b"H have no criminal record and have committed no crimes! scary.

Dolly is correct. These are spam emails, usually attempting to sell some sort of Internet searching service. Don't open them, and whatever you do, don't click "unsubscribe" or reply with a request to be taken off the list; this just alerts the spammers to the fact that the email address is a valid one.

They don't know you from Adam. Just delete. It means nothing.
They wrote it skillfully, that's all.
Anything of genuine official significance comes in postal mail, not email, not on the phone.
As you say, it has nothing to do with you. You say that.
Laugh and delete. Don't open.
