I just purchased earrings (not the one in the link) with what I would call a hook back. See an example: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ornami.....rings
There's nothing to keep it in place. How does it stay in without dropping half out the earring hole? I didn't realise when I purchased it and spent a pretty penny for beautiful earrings, but what's the point when the hook keeps slipping and it looks like the earring is about (perhaps it is) to fall out. It totally ruins the effect.
Suggestions please!

Usually the hook is somewhat flexible so you can squeeze it to tighten. Does that make sense?

If they are costume jewelry, just chalk it up to lesson learned...
If they are very expensive, go to a jeweler and have real posts welded on.

OP here. I have this but it only keeps it from falling it out completely. It doesn't prevent it from slipping.

Thank you, OP, for this useful piece of information. After loosing several earrings like this, and precious ones, I was about to get those things.
If the earrings are light weight, you don't notice them falling out.
Anonymous because my friends know I'm constantly loosing earrings

I'm confused; I'm wearing earrings like that right now and I've never had a problem with them slipping out of my ear. Maybe you are not putting them all the way through so that your earlobe is nestled in the curved part of the hook?

I was, but it was still slipping out. It seems fine now that I've followed MaBelleVie's instructions.
I'm so grateful for imamother!

OP here. You can get a pack from Amazon pretty cheaply.

I use a plastic or metallic "blocker" that they sell either in packs or on other earrings.

I bend them a little to help them stay put.
