Is it possible that this rabbi will simply move to another community and continue as a practicing rabbi elsewhere? Is he even allowed to move away while he is embroiled in this legal battle?

This has been so widely publicized that there is basically no risk of him being hired elsewhere.

Maybe he's moving somewhere else because his wife kicked him out? It could just as well be somewhere else in the area.

I don't he'd be able to get away with being hired anywhere else: this case is way too high profile for him to go unnoticed as a job applicant.

It looks like the shul owns the house. He's not the Rav anymore, so he's got to leave.

What she said.
Many shuls provide a home for their head rabbi. When the rabbi retires or otherwise leaves, he moves out, and the next rabbi moves in (or the house is sold).
