my dh's boss gave him $200 amex card. can you give him a small gift back or should he give something of similar value? is it okay if he gets him something cheaper and not a gift card? what are some standard gifts besides gift cards? do you have to give all coworkers you work closely with or only the ones who give you?

That is a very genrous holiday gift from the boss but you are in no way expected to give back a gift close to that. Usually bosses give these gifts as a token of appreciation to their employee for all of their work throughout the year. Gift cards are usually a safe bet unless he knows his interests. Depending on how many coworkers your husband has will make a difference of what to give. Some coworkers of mine just bring in homemade treats.

My boss gives me gift cards every year by the holiday season. I usually do a ncie thank you. He's the boss os its a holiday gift/bonus no need to return a gift.
