In another thread 3qts mentioned a prepaid cellphone of $19.99 for 120 minutes. Just checking if there are any 'better deals' ?

I don't nkow the deals but have you checked out tracphone.com I think it is. I know you can buy those at Target, too.

I pay $100 for 1000 minutes, but that doesn't include the phone. It's T-Mobile to Go.

BV, sounds like you have a prepaid phone card. I'm asking about prepaid phones.

I use tracfone and am very happy with them. Usually I get 60 days/60 minutes for $19.99. They frequently have promotions like an extra 60 minutes free. You can also get a free phone with your first prepaid card.
If you want a referral, I think we both get free minutes for it.

Meema, I hadn't realized the minutes have an expiration date.

If you don't add minutes by the time it expires, you lose your phone number (but you keep the remaining minutes as soon as you add more/reactivate).

Any recommendations for a prepaid cellphone without expiring minutes? I do want to have everything, don't I?

yeah my dd had a phone that a friend gave her ... and if you don't put the $20 on it cancels ... I think you have a certain period ... but still people especially teens can waste these minutes and then you still can't reach them in an emergency ...

No, mine is not a CARD, but a PHONE.
For about $80, maybe less, you get a T-Mobile Nokia phone with SIM card. Then, you can pay $100 and get 1000 minutes (a pin# you enter into the phone). The minutes are good for 1 year, though I usually finish them in 3 months and then refill.
You can also put in smaller card amounts (that's prepaid phone cards that go into the phone), but they work out to more per minute and the minutes expire sooner.
