I now volunteeer for a mosad who bakes for simchas - sholom zochors, lechaims, and even weddings.
What goodies do you like - and not like!

to be honest I like "every day" things at simchos. I remember I went to a gathering for somebody being born and there were fancy cakes and what I liked best was the chocolate sheet cake with white icing!
Yes presentation is good but sometimes these fancy schmancy cakes don't taste as good as a simple yummy sheet cake.

my favorite are always those peanut butter balls (I often seee then as diagnals) that have chocolate on top, lace cookies are nice, jelly roll cakes are yum and pretty.
If it tastes good and is prepared nicely on a platter thats all it takes.

If you want to turn "everyday" cookies or cakes into something fancier...do them in mini! Mini cookies, squares, mini cakes & cupcakes, mini tarts, parfaits, and mini pies...that's what all the caterers do.
