Does anyone have any input re what would be better for older kids (9 and up) to use solely for reading books on? I'm finding all the different types and styles confusing! We want our kids to be able to read US library books after we make aliyah later this summer, but don't want "free videos and games" (I'm not opposed to a few games, that wouldn't be a deal-breaker, but don't want them to have internet access and watch videos on the thing!).
Thank you so much for the help!!!!!

you can put parental controls on certain kindle fires (I think they make one just for children) so that they can't browse the internet or watch videos or do anything you don't give permission for. Ditto with ipad. You might be able to do the same with the nook, I don't know.
BUT if you want it for reading I would get the reading only kindle. Games are addictive and lots of kids might choose to play games rather then read. If you want them to have a game device maybe get two separate devices. Also the reading only kindle has a much longer battery life.
