Do kids need the board to play? Is it similar to playing Lego? Cuz my kids only use the Lego pieces... not the board (even though I got it for them). Wondering if I need to buy a board too for Playstix.

The Playstix comes with a board, I just have a different brand that didn't come with one and would love to have one.
