1- At what point/age did you start seeing signs that your child may be gifted/challenging?
2- When you noticed the signs, were you in denial until you got a real diagnosis?
3- Honestly, did it make you look negatively at the child/did it get in the way of your love for your child?
My child is so normal in so many ways, that I would have never dreamed she would have any issues, but certain slight things keep coming up as red flags. She is a smart child, but very visual and a lot won't process if she only heard it. Now she has this issue with her clothing around her neck that bothers her. She has a couple of fears but extreme in the way she freaks out about them..
I am going to be evaluating her but I just wonder, from real moms, is it normal that it's making me look negatively about my child? I'm finding it getting in the way of my loving her, although of course I love her, just something feels like it's in the way. I know there are so many children with so many issues and there is so much help and support out there, just something feels like something is wrong with me or my family now. A very hard concept to swallow. Maybe my ego.
I do love and accept my daughter, I just wonder if this is normal how I feel and if anyone has felt the same way.

Totally normal to worry, or to dread if it might affect your feelings fo your child.
It passes.
