I have a really weird aversion to having her number saved in my cell phone. Over the years, I've seen and recognized it on the caller ID so many times that I have it memorized, but not saved.

I do because I have a weird savant for phone numbers but for normal people, it's fine not to know especially if you call her directly from your contacts. I guess the best way to save face in this situation is tell the person you'll forward the contact.

I don't know my kids' cell numbers off by heart, so that would be no, I do not know my MIL's number either. I actually don't have a bad memory, but ever since the numbers are saved under contacts, I've never had an opportunity to actually 'dial' them.

I am embarrassed once in a while when someone asks for one of my kids' numbers and I need to look it up....

Yes- it's an important number to know in case of an emergency! She always picks up or calls back right away as opposed to my side of the family Smile so if there was an emergency I know she can be counted on to pick up and help.

Somebody just called me and asked for my mil's cell number. I was embarrassed that I had to check my contacts. Whenever I need to call her on her cell I just look for her in my contacts and press send to call therefore I never remember her number.

Is that weird at all? Am I weird for feeling embarrassed??

How about you?

I never call my mother in law on her cell. I always call the house. I try to only call when I think she will be home, cuz I hate leaving messages. She lives in another state, so it's not like I need her to be an emergency contact or anything like that....
