I have just discovered Boston-based Gateways, which among other things offers support and services to students with a range of learning needs. This program seems to be addressing a huge need among Jewish Day Schools.
Are there any schools outside of Boston that have similar programs and services, and/or a philosophy of inclusion and respect that seems to be successful?
Our current Orthodox day school, like many others around the country, is struggling with 25 kids in a class, sending kids out for evaluations and therapy when they don't fit the mold. So many students end up at public schools, where their emotional and other needs may be met.
