I just finished listening to this incredible speech by Dr. Jacob at Ohr Naava earlier this week and I highly recommend it. She seems like a really special woman.

I haven't listened to the whole link yet, but I plan on. Dr. Jacob was my OB when I lived in the U.S. I once had a checkup with her that ended up being immediately after she returned to the office from a delivery. When she came into the room I jokingly asked "so, was it a boy or a girl?" Dr. Jacob paused for a moment and said "I don't remember". I was a bit surprised, as it was just a short time ago that she delivered the baby! She explained "I have seen so much over my years in the delivery room, that when B"H a delivery goes smoothly, and mom and baby are both perfectly fine, I have such a feeling of Hakaros Hatov to Hashem that everything went well, I don' pay much attention to anything else!"
That comment has stayed with me ever since!
