We will be traveling from nj to Richmond va and will have 2-3 hours to go somewhere around there. Not interested in the Baltimore or Washington, D.C. Area as we would like to beat the traffic there earlier in the day. And great ideas? Kids 13 and under. Thanks!

Been there and it's amazing!!!!! Looking for something else and also something not too far as we won't have much extra time. Only 2-3 hours total.

Richmond has historical places from the Civil War, and I believe there's a river there that you can go rafting on. Would either of those appeal to you?

Rafting sounds fun- I'll try and google that. Do you have the name of the place?

Visit Maymont in Ricmond. That's a great place for all ages especially as a leg stretcher.
