Looking to go away for a week with my husband. I would like to go somewhere no more then about five hours by plane from New York. Minyan at least once a day is a must.

What do you like doing? Usually a place that has at least one daily minyan will have 3 times a day. LA and/or San Diego would be a great trip.

How hot is LA in the summer? Would you recommend staying in Beverly Hills or near the beaches? Any nice Starwood hotels?

I was in LA twice in the summer. It was in the 70s but it's not at all humid so the weather was very pleasant. I stated in Beverly Hills one of the times and it was beautiful . Check the spg website. I happened to have gotten an excellent deal thru Priceline.
