My 3.5 year old and 2 year old are going to a family member and babysitter what should I tell them.

I will be on Bedrest then I"YH have a baby if you had a baby you just tell them you had a baby but since they know nothing about me having a baby what do I tell them? It's mainly for the older one as my 2 year old is pretty immature and behind in language and comprehension.

Probably around 3 weeks.

I am not asking to debate the matter just what to tell them.

I told my kids that I had a baby growing in my belly. The Dr's didn't want the baby to come out too early bc it wasn't finished growing so I had to be in bed all day. Since I can't move around they have to stay with bubby for a few weeks. It was pretty hard for my kids but I was able to visit them a few times and we talked on the phone a few times a day. This was also for about 3 weeks.

Tell them that you are having a baby and can't walk around till the baby comes, so they will go to grandma until the baby comes so you can relax in bed. Reassure them that it's nothing bad or dangerous. If you are having a baby in few weeks it's about time you tell them anyway.

Are you going to see them at all over the 3 weeks? That's a long time to be away from mommy at those ages.

I would say mom's not feeling good & has to rest, so you will be at Bubbys house. I think 3.5 is to young to grasp the concept of a baby growing in your tummy.

I don't think so at all. 3.5 year olds can totally grasp the concept.

My 3.5 year old gets it. It depends on the child.

I would tell them mommy needs to rest a lot before the baby is ready to be born.
