Yeshiva Gedolah (Detroit) is pretty yeshivish.
Perhaps you were thinking of Mesivta of West Bloomfield (near Detroit)? They might fit the bill better.
To expound on a point brought up by PP, I agree that most boys' HS do not push kollel one way or other, but some implicitly do by not providing a good secular education.
