I hear the term "slinky skirt" used all the time here, and I would like someone to explain what exactly this is. I assume it is some sort of knit synthetic?
I tried googling and got lots of images like this, and I'm quite certain this is *not* what you other ladies are talking about when you use this term:

What makes that "slinky?" Does this just mean a soft knit?

Poly/spandex blend, called "travel knit" in other circles. Bouncy, doesn't wrinkle. Has a shiny, smooth surface, different from a soft jersey knit.

Actually, the fabric is pretty similar to the skirt in your OP, just not clingy and more opaque.
