We are about to start looking for a house. I know a mortgage preapproval is the first step. What exactly is the process.
We are looking at houses in the 500k range. We have around 130 cash for downpayment and closing costs. Our tax return only shows around 55k because dh gets paid money parsonage and tuition and legal babysitting for our kids comes off pretax. My father in law will cosign and he makes around 100k. Do my numbers add up to get approved for a mortgage?
