My 2 year old is put in to his crib between 7-7:30 pm and lately he just can't fall asleep it takes him 3 hours till he falls asleep, he's so wide awake! he talks to himself for awhile, plays with his stuffed Torah, peeks through the window, so we moved his crib away from the window. I hear him jumping around, tossing and turning , so we tried telling him firmly "lie down go to sleep" it helped for 10 seconds, tried singing to him, having the air condition on or the fan, don't know what else? any suggestions? did anyone have this with their 2 yr old?

What are his other hours? When does he wake up? Does he take a nap? How long? My 2 yr old has a weird schedule. He takes like a 2 1/2 hr nap during the day so he only goes in for the night at close to 10, and wakes between 7:30 and 8:30.

does he still need the nap? Because maybe 12 hrs a day is enough. My son takes a long nap, as I wrote but with it his sleep averages out to 12 hrs a day. Also do you do stuff to wind him down before bed to help him fall asleep?

or maybe he could go in for an earlier nap- around 12 or so.
My daughter (almost 2) naps at 12. If she naps later, she also won't fall asleep till a ridiculously late hour. Now she goes to sleep around 7.
