Any ideas for Chol Hamoed that are appropriate for chassidish mom and dad and two year old son? (Mom in ninth month, have pity, please!  )

Why are you mentioning chassidish? All types go to all sorts of places.
Subway to New York aquarium & boardwalk.
Bus to prospect park or flushing meadow park/queens Zoo.
As of now it's supposed to rain all days chol hamoed.

Are you willing to rent a car or take a car service/Uber, or do you only want mass transit options? If I was in my 9th month, I certainly wouldn't want to spend a long time on NY subways, though they're obviously cheaper.
