I'm moving to a new town, and I would like to bring food from New York with me in my suitcase.
If a freeze the food before and put it in the checked baggage, will the food stay cold on a short flight?
Is it true that the compartment for baggage under the plane is cold during flight becuase it's in high altitude?

it might depends how long a short flight is and yes it is cold underneath the plane where they put the luggage but I would suggest putting it in freezer bags with ice blocks

I have taken meat/chicken to europe like this: freeze the food, wrap in newspaper and in foil. cargo in the airplane is very cold. food remains frozen.
