why do we have an ignore feature?
I think its awfull and rude.
If someone is being a problem, then we have moderators for a reason. But to ignore??? and if someone you usually don't like has something valuable to say, you don't want to read it......???
what kind of a move towards ahavas yisroel and bringing moshiach is this?

my guess is it makes it so you never see posts that are posted by a particular poster that you choose to ignore.
I don't think its nice, but I already made that obvious with this thread.

Maybe it will increase Ahavas Yisrael. Maybe, if someone consistently writes things that are offensive to you, and gets you worked up, and leads you to possibly starting a fight with them, it's better to just ignore them, and not get involved.

I must agree that it's odd ... but perhaps some peoples posts cause ones blood to boil ...

Does anyone know what the ignore feature actually does? I hear speculation, but no facts.

you just push a button , and you will not be able to see what the person
wrote. It should not tell the other person that she is on ignore.
it will be a great idea and cause less fighting on this site.

Oh, so it is not a feature that will allow you to block another's posts permanently? That's what it looked like to me. And it would be a pity, because on more than one occasion, I had a negative first impression of someone, and they kind of grew on me after awhile or I started to see their point of view.

Exactly.
In real life you're able to choose who you associate with, why is it rude to do it in an online community?
