What are normal, good bedtimes for a 3 and a half year old? And for a six month old infant?
(The three year old does not nap.)

For the 3yo- between 6:00 and 7:00.
For the infant, what age are you asking about?

That can be the same, between 6:00 & 7:00 (but wait till at least an hour and a half after the last nap).

Ideally my 3 year old would go to bed at 7:30. In reality he won’t go to bed alone so he waits until my oldest goes to bed at 8. He wakes around 7 which is not too terrible.

3 year old 6:30. Especially without a nap, my son is really tired then.
Infant goes to sleep at around 11, but naps from 5-7, which is good because that is crazy time in my house.

I wouldn't put a 3 year-old to bed until at least 8.
He should sleep 10 to 12 hours a night. If he's not napping, put it on the high side.
If you put him to bed at 6, he should be up by 6 at the latest. Maybe as early as 4. Who wants that?
I like my babies to go to bed late, so they get that first, long sleep while I'm sleeping, and I can get some rest.

A 3 yo who doesnt nap can sleep more than 12 hours.
My kids go to bed between 6:30 and 7:30.
4.5 yo is up around 7:30 and my almost 3 yo is up around 8:30.

My toddler can't sleep more than ten hours in a 24 hour time period it appears. So his bedtime is at 8 and he's up at 6

It depends on when they need to be up by, and when theyll be woken by the morning noise. My 3 yr old is usually up by 7:30 so I start bedtime at 6:45/7. Lights out and cd at 7. He'll fall asleep pretty quickly and wake up between 7 & 8.
A 6 month old I usually do bedtime between 8 & 9:30 depending on how well he naps, if hes giving me large stretches or wakes every 3 hours, and if I've moved him out of my room yet. (If hes still in my room I push his bedtime as late as possible so I could do things in my room.

Thanks everyone. I see that there's quite a range!
My 3 yr old sometimes falls alseep between 5-6 but usually a bedtime of around 7 or 730 seems to work well for him- no arguing, just a quick bedtime story and cuddles...
I just wasn't sure if that was too late. (He wakes up at 5 am if he goes in at 5-6, and at 6:30- much more palatable for me- if he goes in at 7-730, so that's what I prefer.)
My baby seems to be happy now with a 630 bedtime. I recently posted that he likes to go in at 5 but wakes up at 4-5, and you all suggested that I try to put him in later anyway. Well, I did, and now he's happy to stay up until 630, and he slept a little layer! 6 am is a LOT better than 5 am.
Thanks all!

Same for both!

I don't think it matters what time bedtime is. What matters is that they are getting enough hours of sleep. Do any of your kids wake up 'with the sun'? Are the upstairs neighbors making a racket at 6:30 AM? Do your kids sleep with shade darkeners and blissfully sleep until 8:30? Do what works for you.

If the 3 yr old goes to school, then 12 hrs before he needs to wake up.
If he's home, then a little later.
As far as the 6 month old. When my kids were little I would schedule the last feeding to be around 12PM. They usually could go about 6-7 hrs. That would give me a decent night's sleep

All kids are different. When mine were 3 two of them went to bed 6:30-7 and woke up between 7-7:30 and took a two hour afternoon nap. THe third also slept 6:30/7 - 7/7:30 but was done napping at around 2.5.
