Didn't want to post on the other thread because can't be anonymous there. I knew a person who was in prison in Israel who was allowed to go home for one Shabbat in 3 so that could also be how it could happen for a person to have kids while in jail. The person I know was in for a shortish time and was eventually pardoned because the sentence was ridiculous and the "crime" was accidental.

Im going to assume that a murderer or rapist or crimes like that, do not get to go home every while. NO, I saw a documentary about yigal amir and there is a room for conjugal visits.

I don't know anything about prison Israeli or elsewhere.
But if anyone watched "The Good Wife on Amazon prime there is one scene where Alicia goes to visit her husband in prison overnight. I don't know the legalities or technicalities there just pointing out that there are some situations where thisbis allowed.
