We have the opportunity to have a full day without our kids in Lakewood this Sunday!

What can we do? It will be morning until about 6pm. Willing to drive an hour or so, but we don't want to waste lots of time traveling.

Thank you!

PS we recently did a lot of marriage therapy and this day is important to us but I haven't had a chance to research what to do there! Please help!

There's really not tons to do around Lakewood that I can think of. I mean, you can drive to the ocean, near West Long Branch, or Atlantic City....you can go out to eat...but not much by way of entertainment. My girls were just recently kvetching about this.

You could go shopping, to the mall, etc...

Maybe post what type of things you enjoy, and you'll get more responses.

Make it Glass was really nice, relaxing in a way similar to paint -a- pottery.

There's a mini golf place along the 9 that is decent. (Out doors, so bundle up if its cold)

Top Golf near Edison (not sure if it's too far).

I also like to do ceramics or make it glass type places with my husband. It's very calming and you can just shmooze have a good time together.
There's a ceramics place in Freehold Mall.

there's a very nice hotel called Oyster Point in Red bank where I imagine you can go for a drink & walk along the beach. There's a ceramics place near there also. then it's not far to Deal to go out to eat. I like 656 Ocean, ask for table for two on the right (the left side tends to have larger noisier groups but I don't know how noisy the whole place will get on a Sunday afternoon.)

(I've been disappointed when going out to eat w DH & having large noisy families nearby. I think there should be both types of restaurants...)

Since you have a full day, I would recommend that you drive to Staten Island and take the ferry into Manhattan. Tons to do there.

Thank you all! We have to be back for a wedding in Lakewood tomorrow evening and I want to sleep in tomorrow, so I don't want to go to NYC.

Silver ball arcade in asbury park is cool. It’s an old fashioned arcade place with all the old time games- loads of them! You pay admission and play unlimited games for as long as u paid for.

Make it glass has been suggested. It is a lovely activity very therapeutic and addictive at the same time lol

For eating out ottimo has good milchig food. For fleishigs you can go to entree somewhere in center of town or estreia. I'm not sure which one is pricier but food good in both.
