I meant to post this for a while already, but never got to it.
I am posting anonymously because I told a lot of people about it IRL.
My 4 year old son had real bad eczema on his face, arms ( From shoulder to wrist) & legs since he was 6 weeks old. I tried a lot of things like many other people do, but nothing helped. I did use cortisone occasionally.
And then, before the summer I read in 1 of the posts here on imamother about "Skin Healing Gemach". I called them & they were very helpful. One of the things they told me was to try balmex. I decided to try & boy was I glad that I did. I have been using balmex & no cortisone since the beginning of the summer. I put it on him twice a day. My son's skin has never looked so good. He's sleeping much better at night and much more comfortable.
I have also heard about other people who used it and they said that it helped them as well.
If anyone wants to call them, their # is: 845-425-2773

So interesting, I never heard of that! How do you stop it from smearing all over and getting onto the clothes? Do you use a thick heavy layer, or just a little bit?

Would they be able to help with psoriasis?

It does smear on clothing, it ruins them and doesn't wash so well But for me it was more important that my son's skin should get better. You can try to use long sleeve undershirts. In the beginning I used to put on a thick layer at night after bath & again in the morning. Later on when his skin started becoming better I would put a thick layer at night & a thinner one in the morning. Now I put thin layer at night & hardly anything in the morning.

For those dont like super greasy, staining, or white creams, I have found Eucerin Eczema to be very effective.

Eucerin and Balmex work in two different ways. The best is:
1. Smear with Eucerin for deep moisture (but it absorbs in and disappears fast)
2. Smear on top of that with a thin layer of Aquaphor for sealing in the moisture
3. Balmex on top of that, rubbed in, to help with inflammation and itch/burn

You just reminded me, in the beginning I also used aquaphor before putting on the balmex to moisturize the skin. Now I only use a little balmex.

I also sometimes used a+d ointment before applying the balmex.

Does balmex have a very bad smell?

No, I don't find that it should have a bad smell.
