There's something in my life that triggers me and I really don't like how I react. I was thinking about it yesterday and came to the realization that while I can try various strategies at the end of the day I really need Hashem's help and there's a certain level of gaavah in thinking that I can figure out everything by myself. Like how Rabbi Pincus gives the analogy of the doctor who didn't call in backup when he needed it, that we are supposed to reach out to Hashem and ask him to help us do the right thing. I decided the next time I feel myself getting upset I'm going to daven. Like the whole 12 steps let go and let G-d, realize we can't do this on our own.
Today it happened and I screamed out to Hashem asking him to help me. Help me to stay calm even though I'm furious, to control myself. B"H with Hashem's help I controlled myself. Afterwards I talked to my dd about it. How we can ask Hashem to help us do the right thing and how He helped me and I thanked him. . Just wanted to share if may be it might be of help someone else struggling.
